Through 2010,

• Reduction of the prevalence of AIDS/HIV IST on the vulnerable populations living in the Sisal programs intervention areas
• Increase of sound attitudes with regards to IST/HIV/AIDS among the highly vulnerable populations (prostituted, homosexuals…..).
• Decrease of the exclusion and increase of number of infected malagasy people been taken in charge (PLWHA)

The SISAL association is present in two provinces in Madagascar (Antananarivo and Toliary) and is working on four projects supported by two offices employing 26 persons.

According to article 02 its statutes, the goal of SISAL is "to promote health through fight against AIDS/IST among the vulnerable populations of Madagascar".

SISAL was created after an engaged reflection between the past employees of the project fighting against AIDS initiated by Médecins du Monde in 1994 in the 67Ha neighborhood along with the partners for this project.

SISAL is an association, which does not have any political nor religious ownership; is oriented to fight against AIDS/IST/HIV. Its statute was legally registered in the malagasy competent authority register books in June 2000.

At the national level, the results of  the HIV sero-screening sessions on the targeted groups at the shifting sites in 2005 shows that the country is being in intensively high epidemic phase. Among pregnant women from the general population, the rate is 0.16%. Among tubercular ones, the rate goes up to 0.91% and among IST patients,
