Caring of patients is being assured by two doctors per center 5 days a week, from 7h 30 to 12 h and from 14 h 30 to 18 hours. It consists of the following steps: Reception and registration; Interviewing; clinical examination; Diagnosis; Treatment; Counseling on treatment of partners and promotion of condoms; Filling up a data collection sheet.
A center performs every around 9000 consultations on about 6000 patients. Each consultation offers a counseling service. Treatments are assured at the center. A partial cost reimbursement is obtained, in order to guarantee the access to services. The data collected on consultations are registered on EpiInfo software (identity, age, sex, profession, geographical origin, risk factors, consultation reason, diagnosis, biological results and treatments…) and allow to assure an internal epidemiological control.
