On the occasion of the New Year's Eve parties and the imminent arrival of the year 2009, The set of the members and team of SISAL wishes you to all to spend a merry Christmas and a very good and happy new year 2009

I./ TESTING PRECOCIOUS SAFE LIFE

II./ FAITHFUL SUPPORT OF THE PRINCESS OF MONACO TO SISAL

III./ SOLIDARITY IN THE SADEC TO CHALLENGE THE AUTHORITIES TO HOLD THEIR PROMISES FOR THE ACCESS IN THE TREATEMENTS: THE RIGHT TO TREATMENT IS A HUMAN RIGHT

I./ TESTING PRECOCIOUS SAFE LIFE

It is on the theme of a sensitization for a precocious and voluntary testing of the HIV that the team of SISAL dedicated one week to celebrate December 1st, 2008 for the AIDS world day. Various demonstrations have been organized during this week with passage in a broadcast TV and a broadcast radio, a tour in the nearest districts, games questions answers every morning with shares, projections of movies on the testing and the women followed debates with intervening parties of the public sector and the SE/CNLS.

The benefits during this week were free, treatments and cares in addition to the testing. More than 300 people have been taken in charge and 76 did the tracking of which a young woman tracked down positive. She has immediately been taken in charge and has been refered to the level of a physician référent.

Tools of sensitization have also been produced of which a panel of discussion, a box to picture and cards advice around the testing and the treatment of the HIV.

The messages of prevention classic ABC must be under stretched by the backing of the promotion of the testing of the HIV to be effective and efficient. Indeed, without knowledge of its serological statute, the application of these methods can be unfounded and same dangerous, notably for the women in couple and faithful if there is not reciprocity.

It is also time to take in account the dimension human rights in the answers in the VIH/SIDA, especially concerning universal access to the treatments and cares. The ruptures are not acceptable and a better quality of the handling is required. It is unacceptable that people die whereas the treatments and the handling are free and disponibles. It is also an argument to promote more precocious testing in order to be able to save more life.

II./ FAITHFUL SUPPORT OF THE PRINCESS OF MONACO TO SISAL

Her grace, the Princess Stéphanie of Monaco did a friendly visit within our Centre of Antananarivo in order to listen and to share with members PLWHIV of the home sambonaina on their lived and the present difficulties to which they are confronted, to encourage them to continue to advance and of ever to lower the arms.

Unfortunately, the discussions have been done again in a confidential place because the PLWHIV fear to be known again. However, these exchanges repeated with their implications in activism begin to break their silence and the fear to be rejected. The Princess with the delegation of the Cooperation Internationale of the Principality of Monaco promised to renew their support and incited us to propose some actions in the domain of the generating activities of incomes for the PLWHIV.

They distributed 80 tee shirt and 10 caps thereafter with the logo of our partner FIGHT AID MONACO. We tell to them thanks a lot and see them next.

III./ SOLIDARITY IN THE SADEC TO CHALLENGE THE AUTHORITIES TO HOLD THEIR PROMISES FOR THE ACCESS IN THE TREATEMENTS: THE RIGHT TO TREATMENT IS A HUMAN RIGHT

A press conference has been organized in the local of SISAL last December 10 in collaboration with the national network of organization of handling of the PLWHIV, MAD'AIDS in answer to the call to solidarity in the SADEC thrown by the SATAMO organization in South Africa. The activists MITA of SISAL with the president of the MADAIDS network exposed to the press the present situation of the handling of the PLWHIV in Madagascar. The state made some efforts concerning handling of the PLWHIV but because of a rupture of ARV more than three months this year, twenty PLWHIV died. Also, the PLWHIV require some long-term and perennial solutions on behalf of the authorities to face the new cases to come. A standard press release established by SATAMO for all organizations partners in the SADEC has been distributed to the journalist with the slogan: "Give money where the mouth is."

This press conference has been organized simultaneously in several countries in southern Africa and the official conference has been organized in Cape Town in South Africa.
